Abstract: | Embora a definição para o conceito de corporate venturing (CV) não seja única, pode-se compreendê-lo como o investimento de grandes empresas em micro e pequenas, com múltiplos objetivos, que incluem conhecimento de tendências de mercado, retornos financeiros e objetivos estratégicos. O CV é normalmente fornecido a empresas jovens, com o objetivo de apoiar o surgimento e o crescimento de novos negócios, visando, principalmente, ao desenvolvimento de novas tecnologias e à valorização da empresa investida. Este artigo pretende descrever o conceito dessa iniciativa de financiamento a empresas e entender o estágio atual dos investimentos por meio de CV no Brasil e no mundo. Para tanto, revisita a literatura sobre o tema, procurando apontar os caminhos seguidos pelas principais companhias no mundo que adotam essa estratégia, bem como entender as principais motivações e potenciais benefícios tanto para as empresas que investem, quanto para as que são investidas. Por fim, o artigo detalha o apoio do BNDES aos investimentos de capital de risco no Brasil e sua importância para as micro, pequenas e médias empresas nacionais. Although the definition for the concept of corporate venturing (CV) is not unique, one can understand it as the investment of large companies in micro and small enterprises with multiple objectives, including knowledge of market trends, financial returns and strategic objectives. The CV is typically given to young companies with the purpose of supporting the emergence and growth of new businesses, aimed mainly at the development of new technologies and the valuation of the company invested in. This article intends to describe the concept of this funding initiative to businesses and to understand the current status of investments via CV in Brazil and worldwide. To do so, it revisits the literature on the subject, trying to point out the paths followed by the main companies in the world that adopt this strategy, as well as to understand the main motivations and potential benefits both for the companies that invest and for those that are invested in. Finally, the article details the support of the BNDES to the investments of venture capital in Brazil and its importance for micro, small and medium-sized domestic companies. |
