Fertilizantes organominerais de resíduos do agronegócio: avaliação do potencial econômico brasileiro

Abstract

O déficit estrutural na demanda por macronutrientes no mercado brasileiro é decorrente da pujança e competitividade do agronegócio e das restrições estruturais da indústria de produção de fertilizantes, uma vez que o país carece de insumos dessa indústria. Entretanto, a abundante produção de resíduos por alguns setores do agronegócio possibilita que os nutrientes presentes nesses rejeitos possam ser reaproveitados, reduzindo, assim, a destinação ambientalmente incorreta e atribuindo maior contorno de economia circular ao agronegócio brasileiro. A produção de resíduos dos setores sucroalcooleiro, bovino, suíno e avicultor de corte poderia suprir, aproximadamente, metade da demanda de macronutrientes brasileira em um cenário hipotético de aproveitamento de todos os resíduos gerados por esses segmentos. Apenas a conversão dos nutrientes presentes nos segmentos que apresentam menos desafios logísticos (sucroalcooleiro, suíno e avicultor de corte) representaria um mercado potencial superior a US$ 1 bilhão anuais.

The structural deficit in the demand for macro-nutrients in the Brazilian market is due to the strength and competitiveness of agribusiness and the structural constraints of the fertilizer production industry, since the country lacks this industry’s inputs. However, the abundant production of waste by some sectors of agribusiness enables the nutrients present in such waste to be reused, thereby environmentally reducing incorrect disposal and assigning to Brazilian agribusiness a character more akin to that of a circular economy. The production of waste by the sugar and ethanol, cattle, pig and broiler sectors could supply approximately half the Brazilian macro-nutrients demand in a hypothetical scenario of utilization of all wastes generated by these segments. The conversion of nutrients present in segments that feature less logistical challenges only (sugar and ethanol, pig and broiler sectors) would represent a potential market of more than US$ 1 billion annually.
