Setor privado na infra-estrutura brasileira

Abstract

Este artigo discute as oportunidades e problemas associados à participação de investidores privados no investimento em infra-estrutura no Brasil. Inicialmente descreve-se o que ocorreu nos últimos anos com a infra-estrutura e o que o governo está tentando realizar nessa área. A seguir, discutem-se os instrumentos que o governo tem à mão para tentar atingir seus objetivos e os principais obstáculos à consecução dessas metas. O trabalho conclui com uma breve apresentação do que o BNDES tem feito para promover o investimento do setor privado na infra-estrutura.

This article discusses opportunities and problems associated to the participation of private investors in Brazilian infrastructure investments. It first describes developments in infrastructure over the past few years and what the government is trying to accomplish in that area. Next, it addresses instruments available to the government to meet its goals, as well as the main obstacles to them. The paper concludes with a brief introduction on what BNDES has done so far to promote private investments in infrastructure.
