Abstract:	This article debates the role of development banks in financing the sustainable development regarding the 2030 Agenda, which was launched in 2015 by the United Nations. This agenda established 17 sustainable development goals (SDG) that represent an integrated action plan in the economic, social and environmental dimensions. The study also presents the case of the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) analyzing the disbursements occurred between 2015 and 2020 and the contributions for each SDG. Finally, the conclusion highlights the bank’s relevant role for the SDGs related to infrastructure and decent work, with a contribution to job maintenance, and the possibilities of improvement, especially for the SDGs related to health, inequality reduction and climate change.
